Request about homosexuality - short
Dear visitor,
dear medical fellow, psycotherapist and minister,
the working group 'homosexuality' of the German Catholic physicians BKÄ-UCPGF on 22-4-2013 has started a request among their members and physicians and psychotherapists in Germany, Europe and in the United States, to receive more clearness regarding the following questions:
- Where we can read someting offical about the decision of the former San Francisco conference of the US-psychiatrists many years ago (Homosexuality should not be an 'ill.ness', but than the collegaues turned back!)
- Why the so called 'conversion-therapy' of young homosexual peolple stands under critics?
What ist the stand of science today?
Mater for the request was a phone-call of a Redaktioner of a Christian news-journal and the political attac of the Green-Party of Germany to proibit every therapy of young homosexuals. (Mehr)
Request to the medical fellows
Dear medical fellows and members of the UCPG-working group homosexuality,
dear psychotherapists,
dear therapists and helpers of homosexual people,
please give a short answer of two questions, turned up during a phone-call of a lawayer and redactor of a Christian newspaper today:
1) Who knows someting exact (a Link to articles!) about the return of the US-psychiatrists regarding homosexuality?
1) The US-American society of psychiatrists (?) 25 years ago during a congress in San Francisco had decided with a majority against the expression for homosexuality as a "mental or other psychiatric disease" (under the pression of homosexuall lobbyists).
Some years later this or an similar association should have returned to the old opinion:
Homosexuality is valid to become treated and that HS is not a normal behaviour.
Our question:
- Is this true?
- Do You know some link for more and official informations about this new opinion and attutude of our US medical fellows??
Whan, where, how?
- How are thinking Christian / Catholic physicians / psychotherapists / institutions about homosexuality and healing?
2) Regarding the 'converting therapy" and a therapeutical "psycological turn-over" of homosexual people the German political party "The Greens" (Bündnis 90/ Die Grünen) are very against these types of 'therapy' (proclaimed by certain corageous therapists in Germany).
They have in March 2013 prepared a design for a bill to punish each converting or other therapy of homosexual young people.
They say, that a converting therapy often has failed and demaged such young patients.
(These German pro-homosexuality politicians are against this special therapy-system of a protestant institute for young people (Christiches Institut MCDM,DLJG-Institut Dr. med.Christel Vonholt, ) and also for the therapeutic proposals of (Munich) Union of Catholic Physicians Germany (with. Dr. Winkelmann as dircetor and homoeopathic physician).
Our question:
- What is Your opinion about this psychological 'converting therapy'?
- Is this therapy-conceipt today still valid?
- Which were the official results and experiences with this converting therapy?
- And the Christian view of such a therapy?

In his letter to the international medical fellowship Dr. Winkelmann wrote:
NB:
In Germany Christians and Catholic doctors are under pressure by political forces PRO homosexuality.
We do not want to remain 'silent' , we want to resist and give good, scientific correct answers.
We want to help ourother Christian, faithful physicians, psychotherapists, priests, politicians, journalists, ….
Please help us (by an information and counselling),
let us pray for all of us,
let us form a European or international "Networking group assistance for homosexuals and their helpers"
(It such one exsisting yet perhaps??)
